Two U.S. Army Helicopters Crash in Alaska
Two U.S. Army helicopters returning from a training flight crashed near Healy, Alaska, on Thursday, officials said.
Emergency medical workers were at the crash site, the U.S. Army Alaska said in a statement, noting that the incident, which involved two AH-64 Apache helicopters, remained under investigation. More information would be released when it became available, the Army said.
Two people were aboard each helicopter, John Pennell, a spokesman for the U.S. Army Alaska, told The Associated Press. He had no information on their conditions, he said.
The helicopters were from the 1st Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment, at Fort Wainwright, officials said.
