CEO 2023 Street Fighter 6 character usage stats

CEO 2023 is the big tournament that's been captivating FGC spectators over the weekend. Being that this event hosted the first supermajor for Street Fighter 6, almost 1,100 players signed up to compete.

The list of notable competitors includes some big names such as Bandits|MenaRD, XSET|iDom, Punk, Nephew, Bandits|Caba, KizzieKay, CJ Truth, 00|Phenom, Justin Wong, Semiij, NuckleDu, END|Shine, and many more. Needless to say, the competition at this event proved to be quite fierce.

With this level of competition, we're presented with an opportunity to analyze how the meta for Street Fighter 6 is shaping up. By taking a look at the character usage stats for the top 192, top 64, and top 24 portions of the bracket, we can get an idea of the standout characters in the Street Fighter 6 meta at this moment.

In both the top 64 and top 24, Juri proved to be the most popular and most successful. Eight competitors used Juri as their main in the top 64 while one other player had Juri as a secondary. Only two of these Juri users got eliminated going into the top 24.

However, there were numerous characters that outnumbered Juri in the top 192 portion of the bracket. As it turns out characters like JP, Luke, Ken Kimberly, Dee Jay, and a couple of others are extremely popular, but they were shown to falter as the competition intensified.

With 19 players representing JP, the character was almost used by 10% of the players in the top 192 portion of the bracket. However, only five JP users remained going into the top 64.

Kimberly ended up being the second most popular combatant in the top 64 portion of the bracket as seven players used her as their main while two others had her ready as a backup character. However, only two of these Kimberly users were able to make it into the top 24 portion of the bracket, on the losers side.

Even Lily, a fighter that's often been labeled as the weakest character in Street Fighter 6, saw some usage thanks to the efforts of KS|Rikemansbarnet. Of course, it should be noted that Rikemansbarnet has primarily been a Juri user throughout the CEO 2023 bracket with Lily as a secondary.

Ultimately, all 18 characters in Street Fighter 6 saw at least some usage in the top 64 portion of the bracket. However, going into the top 24, only 12 out of 18 fighters saw representation.

The six combatants that failed to climb into the top 24 were Ryu, Marisa, JP, Zangief, Dhalsim, and Blanka. In particular, JP ended up dropping off hard as there were originally five JP users in the top 64 portion of the bracket.

Uniquely, Cammy is the only character in which all players representing her in the top 64 portion of the bracket performed well enough to make it into the top 24. All other characters ended up losing representation via eliminations along the way.

In total, three players used Cammy as their primary character. CJ Truth was the only player that used Cammy as a secondary in the top 64, but he primarily used Juri.
