Jack Black took to the stage to belt out a heartfelt live rendition of The Super Mario Bros. Movie's Peaches at the Hollywood Bowl during The Game Awards' 10-year anniversary concert β€” and we are extremely here for it.

Just when you thought you had got one of this year's biggest earworms out of your head, Black burst onto the stage to give a surprise performance of Peaches at TGA's one-night-only concert, supported by a full orchestra led by Grammy Award-winning composer Lorne Balfe.

Dressed in a Bowser-like green suit with a flaming red headdress, Black brought big Bowser energy to the stage, and it's safe to say the crowd was with him from the very first note to the last. In fact, people's love for Black might even outweigh Bowser's affection for Peaches.

When you hear Black belting out the ballad, it seems like it was fate for the actor, singer, and gamer to take on the role of Bowser. But initially Black was hesitant to sing in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, telling IGN he tries "not to do too many crossovers" where his characters sing.

However, after listening to a 30-second sample of the love song, Black felt he couldn't pass up the opportunity to tap into the spiky, fire-breathing Koopa's softer side. And Bowser's romantic ode to Princess Peach became an instant hit, landing a place on the Billboard Hot 100.

TGA's concert turned a spotlight on the role music plays in video games, with orchestral selections and suites from top franchises of the past decade, including music from much beloved and award-winning games such as Hades and Elden Ring as well as upcoming titles like Starfield.

If you're left with an insatiable desire for more Peaches, you can pre-order a 7" vinyl that features Bowser's ballad on the A-side and the classic Mario Bros. Rap on the B-side. Or you can give the track another listen now on the digital soundtrack for The Super Mario Bros. movie.
