Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Leak Seemingly Confirmed by Slegdgehammer Games
Highlights Sledgehammer Games has seemingly confirmed the leak of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 logo by updating its Twitter header with a similar design.
The leak came from Monster Energy drink can pamphlets, suggesting players will be able to earn in-game rewards through QR codes on the cans.
The leaked pamphlets have increased fan confidence that the announcement of Modern Warfare 3 is imminent, and a federal judge hinted at a November release.
Sledgehammer Games has seemingly added legitimacy to the recent leak that revealed the logo of its widely rumored remake of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 logo leaked online on July 24, courtesy of some pamphlets from Monster Energy.
While Activision has historically announced new Call of Duty games in the spring, the publisher started doing away with that strategy when it unveiled Treyarch and Raven Software's Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War in August 2020, less than three months ahead of its release. The much-leaked remake of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will apparently employ a similar marketing strategy, seeing how the game has yet to be announced as of July.

In the meantime, Sledgehammer Games, the studio believed to be developing the remake, has seemingly confirmed the recent Modern Warfare 3 logo leak by updating the header image of its official Twitter profile. The new graphic still features the company's logo, but with a red "E" that looks like the Roman numeral three turned on its side. In fact, the accentuated letter appears to be identical to the number seen in the previously leaked Modern Warfare 3 logo. And while the Monster Energy pamphlets already looked fairly legitimate, especially given the brand's long history of Call of Duty collaborations, this developer teaser adds even more credence to the recent leak.
The prematurely surfaced flyers suggested that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 players will be able to earn special in-game rewards by scanning QR codes on their Monster Energy drink cans. This sort of promo is par for the course for the series, which frequently partnered with food and beverage producers, as well as restaurant chains. One of the most recent examples of such a collaboration was the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Little Caesar's promotion, which was announced in October 2022, mere weeks ahead of the game's release.
Prior to that, Call of Duty partnered with everyone from Mountain Dew and Doritos to Burger King and Pizza Hut. Monster Beverage Corporation already has an ongoing relationship with Activision, not least because its Monster Energy brand has been sponsoring the Call of Duty League (CDL) since spring 2023.
The newly leaked pamphlets inspired additional confidence among the fandom that the Modern Warfare 3 announcement is on the horizon. As for when exactly the much-rumored game is expected to hit the market, a federal judge recently suggested that Modern Warfare 3 is targeting a November release.
