Only iPhone 16 Pro And iPhone 16 Pro Max Will Come With A Larger Display, Standard Models Slated To Retain The Same Size
Apple will launch the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models later this year, with major changes expected to arrive with all four models. The standard models will gain the Dynamic Island and USB-C while the 'Pro' models are expected to come with an Action Button and potentially a single elongated Volume Button. However, next year's iPhone 16 Pro models will come with further enhancements as far as the design is concerned. It is now being reported that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature larger displays than the current models.
Larger displays will be exclusive to the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, standard models to retain the display size
It was initially coined that Apple will adopt a solid-state solution for the iPhone 15 Pro models. However, due to production or technical issues, Apple reserved the feature for the iPhone 16 Pro models. Henceforth, this year, we are expecting the company to launch the iPhone 15 Pro models with physical Volume and Power buttons. The device is also reported to feature an Apple Watch Ultra-like Action Button. Other than this, prominent display analyst suggests that only the iPhone 16 Pro will feature a larger 6.3-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max or iPhone 16 Ultra will come with a 6.9-inch display.
The information was shared by display analyst Ross Young (via MacRumors), highlighting that the larger display upgrades will be exclusive to the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models. The standard models will continue to house the same display sizes as the current models. Even though Apple has streamlined the iPhone lineup with two 6.1-inch and two 6.69-inch models, the gap will be widened next year. The analyst will share exact details on the display size at the Display Week Conference later this month.
Apple has begun creating wider differentiating features between the standard and the 'Pro' iPhone models. This year, the iPhone 15 Pro models will feature record-breaking slimmer bezels, while the standard models are expected to retain the bezels. With bezels getting slimmer this year, it is not clear if Apple is looking to increase the display size of the iPhone 15 Pro models as well. Currently, it is only reported that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature a 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch display size, respectively.
The iPhone 16 Pro models are also expected to bring a host of new changes as well, like the adoption of the new solid-state buttons.
