Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - What To Do With Dandelions
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a game practically stuffed to the gills with collectibles, crafting items, and other materials. It can be hard to know exactly what the best use of a crafting material like Honey is upon finding it, as the descriptions only reveal their basic uses – and some items that seem like they should be crafting materials actually are not.

Players who wander around the Great Sky Island long enough will come across a strange-looking flower on top of a rocky patch in the snowy southeast. This flower, a Dandelion, can be found in a number of places throughout Tears of the Kingdom, too, but it is not a crafting material nor an acquirable item. In fact, it's actually a puzzle – one that players can solve to get a Korok Seed.

What Dandelions Are Used For In Tears of the Kingdom
Dandelions in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are one of the many ways players can get Korok Seeds. Just like in Breath of the Wild, Korok Seeds are used to upgrade players' inventory and the number of items that can be held, and they can only be earned by completing the countless hidden Korok puzzles
To get a Korok Seed from a Dandelion, first walk directly up to it and swing at it with whatever weapon players see fit. Once struck, the Dandelion will launch its seedy top high into the sky, where players can watch it slowly fall to the ground. But it doesn't stick around for long – once it touches the ground, the Dandelion seed will disappear and respawn on the original flower.

Hit the seed again, watch it go into the sky, and watch for where it lands. It won't land in the same spot twice, so pay careful attention and get Link to the spot it will touch down before it gets there. Link won't automatically pick it up, though; players actually have to press the A button to grab it and complete the puzzle.
After it has been grabbed, a once-hidden Korok will appear in front of the player, say, "Ya Ha Ha! You Found Me!" and then give Link a Korok Seed as a reward.
There are a few other upgrade materials and Korok Seeds that can be found on the Great Sky Island, including four that can be acquired for bringing two Koroks back to their respective traveling partners.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
