A Crazy Lens Is on the Way
Venus Optics is known for producing some of the most unique and innovative lenses in the industry, including ultra-macro options, smooth trans focus lenses with extra smooth bokeh, extraordinarily wide lenses, and, of course, their famous probe lens. It seems the company is never content to rest, with another crazy lens likely on the way very soon.
Venus Optics, perhaps best known for their Laowa 24mm f/14 Probe lens, seems to be readying another interesting offering. Canon Rumors is reporting that the company is readying a Laowa Aurogon 10x-50x Microscope lens. Presumably, this lens will push past the limits of macro photography and into microscopy territory, offering photographers extreme levels of magnification. The lens is rumored to have a similar design to the company's probe lenses. There is not much additional information at the moment, but with the announcement rumored for July 17, we will hopefully know more details soon. Undoubtedly, such a lens will require some highly specialized equipment and technique and will not be particularly easy to produce compelling images with, but on the other hand, it will offer unique perspectives and creative opportunities that simply would not be possible with other options on the market at the moment.
